Einstein Residents Lead the Nation in Orthopedic-in-Training Exam

Jan. 17, 2018

For the fourth consecutive year, orthopedic residents from Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia achieved the highest score of any residency program in the nation on the annual Orthopedic In-Training Examination (OITE). The exam is designed to test residents’ knowledge and is a measure of the overall quality of teaching within individual residency programs. Of the 157 residency programs across the country, Einstein stands at the forefront, attaining a place within the 100th percentile mark for the fourth year in a row.

“The Orthopedics Department has gathered a fantastic group of intelligent, professional, hard-working residents,” says James Raphael, MD, chair of Orthopedic Surgery at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. “Our chief residents, Mark Ayzenberg, MD, and Dillion Arango, MD, have done an extraordinary job leading the team along with Gene Shaffer, MD, our orthopedic residency program director.”
